It was a three-team sweep for the Lebanon High School volleyball program over the Eldon Mustangs on Monday night.

In the varsity match, the Lady ‘Jackets won in four sets, 25-15, 16-25, 25-10, 25-20.

“We seemed to be on a rollercoaster of highs and would make dips giving up strings of 2-3 points in a row during the match,” head coach Jenny Collins said. “We started out pretty solid in the first set and that is always our goal especially after having the weekend off and playing on a Monday night.  However, in the 2nd set we committed nine errors (attacking, serving & Serve Receive) giving Eldon those points unearned.

“In the 3rd set, it was another big swing of momentum as we won the set 25-10. The 4th and final set was back and forth with lead exchanges for most of it as Eldon played solid defense and just seemed to pick up every one of our attacks. They were relentless and didn’t let balls hit the floor. Finally we earned several consecutive points behind our servers and their hitters making a couple of errors earning the win at 25-20.”

Lebanon (12-7-1 overall) was led in kills by junior Addy Rebmann with 25. Rebmann, along with Addy Collins and Raylee Quick each added two aces.

Junior Morgan Durbin had 40 assists and 26 digs in the match against the Mustangs while Collins added 21 digs, respectively.

“At this point in the season, I’d like for us to be playing more consistently and taking care of the ball better,” stated Collins. “We have to cut down on the unforced errors and make teams earn their scored points, versus giving them points.  We did put together a couple of solid, nicely played sets and it’s still nice to not play your best ball and still earn the win.”

Lebanon was scheduled to play at Parkview on Tuesday night.
